Nigerian Navy arrests eight stowaways in Lagos

The Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) BEECROFT has arrested eight stowaways onboard Charminar Panama.

They were arrested on Friday at 2.00 a.m. by its patrol team during its routine patrol of the maritime environment.

Base Information Officer, Nigerian Navy Ship BEECROFT, Apapa Lagos, Sub Lieutenant HA Collins said the eight persons were arrested based on actionable intelligence, while they were attempting to exit the country through a vessel Charminar Panama within Lagos anchorage.… Read the rest

Dangote Refinery: Firm completes installation of 18 ultrasonic flare gas metres

Fluenta, a global leader in ultrasonic sensing technology for measurement of flare gas says it has completed installation of 18 ultrasonic flare gas meters on large pipelines around the Dangote Refinery Plant in Nigeria.

FG working to remove bottlenecks around oil production — Lokpobiri

Lokpobiri who gave the assurance when the leadership of Independent Petroleum Producers Group, IPPG, and the Oil Producers Trade Section, OPTS, visited him in Abuja yesterday, said the government was committed to removing all bottlenecks hindering ease of exploration and production in the energy sector.

Greece removes Nigeria from vessel charter party

ABOUT 30 per cent of shipping companies in Greece have removed Nigeria from their charter party, following complaints over hostile environment and alleged harsh treatment meted on crew members of vessels caught up in maritime security issues.

Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers (NALPGAM) has appealed to government to ensure stability in price of gas.

The appeal was made during the 36th Annual General Meeting of NALPGAM held at Golden Tulip in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

The National President of NALPGAM, Mr Abideen Olatunbosun, noted the importance of prioritising gas availability for all Nigerians.

How Nigeria’s PSCs Crude Oil Output Fell to 34% in 12 Months Amid Perennial Underproduction

Oil output from Nigeria’s Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs) with partnering firms fell to a record low of 34 per cent within a period of 12 months, underscoring the seriousness of the country’s perennial inability to produce enough crude oil for export.

NNPC, partners sign deal to cut project contract cycle by 180 days

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) have signed an agreement with the International Oil Companies (IOCs) to reduce the contracting cycle to an optimal level of not more than 180 working days.

The state-owned oil company said in a statement seen by BusinessDay that the Memorandum of Understanding, which was executed on Monday at the NNPC Towers in Abuja, was a demonstration of NNPC Ltd’s commitment to the efficiency mandate as enshrined in the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), which is hinged on developing an industry framework for an optimised contracting cycle.… Read the rest
