PTI, NNPC to plan CNG conversion technology for tricycle, automobiles

The Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) has said that it is working with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Research, Technology and Innovation Division (NNPC RTI) to develop Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) conversion technology for automobiles and commercial tricycles.

Maritime union trains staff on modern administrative techniques

Dr Adewale Adeyanju, the President General, of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN), has trained the union’s secretariat staff on modern office techniques for effective operations.

Adeyanju in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos said the secretariat staff were drawn from the union’s headquarters, the Nigerian Port Authority; dockworkers; shipping; and the seafarers branches of the union.

New OGFZA MD rolls out ambitious expansion plans

The newly appointed Managing Director of Oil and Gas Free Zones Authority (OGFZA), Mr Bamanga Usman, has unveiled plans for the future growth of the agency, inline with President Tinubu’s economic agenda.

 

Usman made this known on Wednesday when he took over from the former MD Sen. Tijjani Kaura, in Abuja.

Nigeria signs deal with Afreximbank to fund $200m LNG project

NIGERIA and African Export Import Bank, Afreximbank, yesterday, signed an agreement targeted at funding the nation’s $200 million Liquefied Natural Gas, LNG project, located in Bayelsa State.

The agreement was signed at the ongoing African Energy Week, AEW, in Cape Town, South Africa by Afreximbank and the project promoters – AlphaDen Energy and Oilfield Limited – for the construction of a 20 million standard cubic feet per day gas processing facility.

NIMASA tutors Ghana, Gambia maritime administrations

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Bashir Jamoh, said it has provided mentorship for maritime administrations to Gambia, Sierra Leone and Ghana among others on various issues such as Port and Flag State Administration and the Suppression of Piracy and Other Maritime Offences (SPOMO) Act.

Stakeholders harp on collaboration for effective NPPM implementation

Stakeholders in the port sector have indicated that effective implementation of the Nigerian Port Process Manual, NPPM, through the Presidential Port Standing Task Team, PSTT, would need collaboration amongst the industry players.

Court stops NUPRC from joining suit on issuance of BOSIET certification

A Delta State High Court sitting at Orerokpe in Okpe Local Government Area of the state has dismissed a motion seeking to join the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) as a defendant in a suit challenging the authority of Opeans Nigeria Limited to issue American Petroleum Institute (API) and Veriforce BOSIET certificates.

Justice Joe Egwu dismissed the motion, which was brought by Opeans, on the ground that there was no cause of action against NUPRC in the instant case.… Read the rest
